The Gather, August 1999

This year's Gather was at Trinity Lake, in Northern California. It was to be my first long trip. I had originally planned to ride it alone, leaving Seattle on Wednesday for Friday mid-day arrival. However, John Coulter (JC) asked for a wing when his wife, Robyn, developed a work conflict. Since I had ridden with JC back in early spring, and enjoyed it (he rides faster than me so I learned a lot), I said, "Me, me!"
