Gill" Subject: Day Ten : Tires Have trouble finding a place to park the bike where I can use the wood block *and* feel like the bike is secure if the wind kicks up again. Check chain and tires ... and groan. There is a flat spot on the rear tire. The Avons have a radical tread pattern - and ONE of the center treads is almost 'flat' (seems to be one and only one). I'm now less certain that I should spend the night at Grand Teton -- thinking I should push on to Idaho Falls and get to Big Twin in Boise on Wednesday afternoon - have them put another rear tire on if they judge this one "dead". I've been 4K+ miles. If the tire doesn't make it home - Diaz "wins" and DaveR "loses". ;-) Is it too late to boost tire pressure? What makes a tire get *one* flat spot? There is nothing in Casper but HD and Suzuki -- if I hang around here in the AM -- then it will be very late before I get to Jackson. No good options that I can see. Anyone with suggestions - feel free to call at 425.351.0005 - it's the USWest Cell. I'll leave it on. Kathy on digest
